It's strange, isn't it, that often those who claim (arrogantly) that they are in touch with the 'earth energies' or 'ancients' are those who actually cause the most damage to the sites? The ones who insist on climbing all over them and leaving their 'offerings'. I have seen chalked spirals on stones at Wayland's smithy and West Kennet Long Barrow, and found crystals embedded in the topsoil of the mounds. Of course nothing is worse than Stonehenge after the Solstice, when the ground is a churned mess of fag ends and other litter, and the whole place reeks of urine (and worse). A lot of the 'krusties' cry about 'their right' to be in the stones but I doubt there are very many who would happily take on the responsibilty that also come with 'rights'
