        Our host has recently added a link about Arkaim, which is at the self same latitude as SH.
Two rivers run near it, the ural and the Miass, the ural flows south, the miass north.

I'm curious whether cupmarks, in their initial use, might have had something to do with the Fallow Deer .

These were said to have been an important source of meat in the Paleolithic Levant, an area from which the symbolism may have spread .

Here is a map of its current range .

It seems imaginable within this speculation that the aggregated cupmark symbol may once have been a charm for fecundity or plenty .




Here, also, is a photo of an African Girl, (of the Karo tribe), with many cupmark-like daubs of white paint on her face .
