Two weeks  ago  the rescue operation of the dolmen "Kolikho" (Tuapse region, Black sea coast , Russia) ” was completed successfully. The dolmen was found by accident after the seasonal flood in 2008. It was buried beneath 3 m-thick river deposits and left untouched since the Bronze Age. This is the first case in Caucasian archaeology!. The burial chamber was full of partly disarticulated human remains. All of them were put in the chamber through the hole in the façade slab. Radiocarbon dates of human remains (72persons) covers the period (approx.) between 1800 and 1300 BC with no signs of chronological gaps. In other word, the dolmen was in use for about 500 years! The grave goods complex is small and consists of  pottery, bronze javelin head, bronze spiral earring, bone belt buckle, few stone flakes and (!)sandstone disk with signs on both sides. On one side of the disk are “astral” symbols, on other side - marks of calibration(?)along  the rim of the disk. The last thing is absolutely unexpected find! It looks like  sort of device (astrolabe!?) or the Caucasian version of the Nebra disk or anything else which is still beyond my mind…
Doomed to be totally destroyed due to seasonal flood the dolmen was finally disassembled, packed up and transported to State Historical Museum in Moscow to be restored and presented to public in 2010. Some details of the event can be watched on the youtube portal:

Viktor,
       Wonderfull report and links.
I am a dowser , and as such have been asked to keep my findings of such in the alternative theories section of this forum.
What bearing was the dolmen on?
I have long been drawn to the dolmen in that area , especially the zig zags down the side stones faces.
I find spiral signals along pathways leading to barrows here in this country,( bloch walls)
They are influenced by the relative positioning and timing of the moon and other planets, it is my personal theory that such timimg was central to the placement of bones etc, but I will leave my comments for the other section of this forum.
Thank You for informing ourselves .
