Ffos-y-Fran is a huge, proposed open cast on the northern fringes of Gelligaer Common. Nature has only just begun to heal the scars of previous, thoughtless violators. This proposal will open-up a wound for the next two decades and the only ones to benefit: a US corporation. As anyone who has ever taken-in the quite breathtaking views from Carn Bugail, shame on those whom propose this scheme.

Dirty tricks are being employed(suprise, suprise) to bulldose(sic) going ahead with this horrid scheme.

Contact: Gaynor Jones 01685 359150 as head of the 'Parents & Residents Against Open Cast Mining'.

Cheers.

Can you please give some more information about the proposed open cast? We may write a short article about it and posting into our Archaeo News section and newsletter.

If you think there is a threat to an ancient site why not register it with Heritage Action?

Thanks, to both of you and shall endeavour to undertake the recommended actions. Having a holiday, for a couple of weeks, so please excuse my silence.

Cheers.
