Further to my rant in the Stone Circle for Sale thread, here's a much more eloquent expression of the situation -

There are several places where threats to ancient sites have long been highlighted, including this forum on Stone Pages and the Sites under Threat section of the Megalithic Portal   http://www.megalithi...opic=30&author=

I feel we all need to co-ordinate our efforts and for that reason Heritage Action has just created its own public forum dedicated specifically to discussing ways in which the public can become actively involved in countering threats. If you feel you'd like to become personally involved in any action to help protect any of the sites highlighted here or elsewhere, and particularly if you know of a site local to you that needs help then please don't hesitate to register for the forum. You can get to via the forum button here - http://www.heritageaction.org/

Sounds like a very worthy cause Nigel.  I'm not sure how much help I could be, but I can complain about it with the best of them!  Good luck with the web site and hope there are enough ppl out there that have the time to dedicate to the cause!

Many thanks Ian. Complaining about it with the best of them is pretty much the name of the game!
