Hi,on a recent trip to Cornwall I went to visit the "Pipers" near Trewoofe. Afterwards i met a pleasant and helpful man who was out walking his dogs who informed me of a nearby Fogou in a private garden. The gentleman also told me that if I asked at the door the owner of the property was likely to let me view it.
To cut a long story short the property owner was out but a note on the front door informed that the fogou could be viewed be telephone appointment only. My problem is that I have never read about this fogou before and would appreciate any info or the where abouts of info about it as next year I would like to visit it.
Thanks Kev T

Ahh, the fogous! We've just came back from a trip to Cornwall a few months ago and visited all the known Cornish fogous apart from this one, the Boleigh Fogou. We tried to find the house who's garden it was supposed to be in but after knocking on enough doors we gave up. But we did manage to find the other three.

There is one in a cow-yard at a farm in Pendeen. We asked the farmer if we could go in and they were ever so helpful. It was damp, cold and great. We didn't get under the creep because there was water on the floor (it often floods so we are told).

The Halliqye Fogou is down on the Lizard. It is in the grounds of a manor estate but is open to all free of change (in the hands of English Heritage). This one was huge, we stepped down the reconstructed Victorian entrance and found in a very dark tunnel. At the end of this is the creep in front of you, but to the right there is a nother tunnel that goes round in a banana shape quite some time before it too turns into another creep.

Finaly there is the fogou at the Carn Euny Village. This ancient deserted village is near the village of Brane and is clearly sign-posted. This fogou goes down underneath the middle of the settlement and halfway through there is an entrance to a huge circular room with a dome ceiling.

We've taken loads of photographs but lost the pictures of the Pendeen fogou (its a long story involving pixies from the Tregiffian barrow!). We hope to put up directions and pictures on our website very soon.

According to my book "Mother & Son" The Cornish Fogu by Ian Ncneil Cooke, it's in the garden of Rosemerryn House OS ref 43702520, hope you find it next time, it looks good.
Jimit. :)
