Dig unearths ancient treasures in Buckinghamshire

Prehistoric treasures were unearthed by the Marlow Archaeological Society MAS (Buckinghamshire, England) last month as they completed their lottery-sponsored dig. A large number of prehistoric flints and pottery dating back to the Bronze Age were found at the dig, which took place in the paddock of Holy Trinity Church, Cookham.
Ann Griffin, site supervisor, said: "We have been incredibly fortunate with the weather, and have had an immense amount of support from Marlow Archaeological Society members and the whole local community." Marlow Archaeological Society plans to do further fieldwork on two south Bucks sites this autumn. Anyone interested in joining the Society should ring Joy Blake on 01628 523896
