Derbyshire's ancient past

Anyone interested in Derbyshire's ancient past should go along to the county's annual Archaeology Day on Saturday, January 13. The series of talks will include Dr John Barnatt, senior survey archaeologist with the Peak District National Park Authority. His lecture, Gardom's Edge Revisited, will delve into the Bronze Age settlements that lie within the Peak Park. Other topics will include the possibility of prehistoric remains at Great Hucklow and medieval Derbyshire parks
     The event, from 9.30am to 5.15pm, will be at the Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield (Derbyshire, England). The cost is £8, £4 concessions, and pre-booking is recommended on 01246 345727.
