Neolithic tombs discovered in Russia

4,000 year old remnants from the Neolithic have been discovered near Shagara Lake, Klepikov District of the Ryazan Region (Russia). Excavation of the site is ongoing. There could have been more finds there, but for the 'black diggers' or site looters, researchers say. Chisels, hatchets, scrapers, arrowheads, crocks and vessels have been found associated with graves. Archeologists found large holes adjoining last year's dig pits when they returned for this year's digging. These holes had been scooped orthogonally to the excavations and the cultural layers mixed and spoilt - most likely plundered.
