Family Day: Ancient Britons

'A History of Ancient Britain' is a forthcoming BBC series that will see Scottish archaeologist Neil Oliver telling the epic story of how Britain and its people came to be over thousands of years of ancient history - the beginnings of a world forged in ice, stone, and bronze. Linked to this new TV series is a special Family Day organized by the Wiltshire Heritage Museum in Devizes, Wiltshire (England).
Called 'Ancient Britons', the event will be held on Sunday, 27 February, 2011 from 11 AM and there will be fun activities for all the family including creating ancient art; build a stone circle; design prehistoric jewellery and ancient technology demonstrations led by Neil Burridge, a specialist in reproducing Bronze Age artifacts using authentic materials and methods.
Booking is not necessary - just come along and join in anytime between 11 AM and 4 PM. Cost: £2 adults, children free. Wiltshire Heritage Museum tel. no. 01380 727369; email wanhs@wiltshireheritage.org.uk
