Hill of Tara campaigners deliver submissions to Transport Committee

Campaigners opposing plans to build a motorway through the historic Tara-Skryne Valley in County Meath, Ireland, have delivered 2,000 submissions to the Oireachtas Transport Committee.
The proposed M3 motorway would pass through an area rich in archaeology around the Hill of Tara. The submissions were collected throughout Ireland last weekend by the Save Tara-Skryne Valley group. Spokesman Vincent Salafia said explained that there were both archaeological and economic reasons for the route to be changed, since lengthy court battles and in-depth excavations mean the motorway wouldn't be completed until 2015.
He added "It would actually be cheaper and delivered quicker if they re-routed the motorway now."
