National Archaeology Weekend at Creswell Crags

For one weekend only (Saturday 14th July and Sunday 15th July), Creswell Crags is being turned in to a time machine, taking you through British prehistory, in a way that has never been seen before. See how technologies have progressed, from flint knapping to bronze casting and building round houses. Come and have a go and see how you could have survived thousands of years ago, where you may have been living, what you might have been wearing, even what you would be eating!
Demonstrators will come from all over the country to take part. They will be joined by Phil Harding from Channel 4’s Time Team who will be around to have fun and answer any questions you may have. There will also be an archaeological excavation happening throughout the weekend which you are welcome to watch to see what amazing things are still being discovered at the Crags. Tours will be running in to Robin Hood cave and Church Hole throughout the days. Booking will be essential for the tours so please call  Creswell Crags Museum and Education Centre, Crags Road, Welbeck, Worksop, Notts. S80 3LH. Tel: 01909 720378.
