King's Quoit Image This tomb lies above the sea cliffs at Old Castle Head

 Hi-Res  (64Kb)

On the side of a cliff path at Old Castle Head, the King's Quoit is spectacularly placed above Manorbier Bay. This low tomb consists of two small sidestones that support a large capstone measuring 4.5 x 2.7m (15 x 9ft). At the south-east corner there is another stone, probably the southern end-stone of the chamber. The internal height of the monument is 0.8m (2.6ft) and the chamber is partially below ground, one side of the capstone being supported by earth alone.
