Placeholder  Volunteers needed for Scottish crannog survey

As part of the South West Scotland Crannog Monitoring project, a programme of loch and landscape survey will be carried out in Dumfries and Galloway, investigating prehistoric and early historic crannog sites in this area. This season's work will involve digital surveys of four crannog sites and their landscape contexts, in conjunction with small scale underwater excavations. This project is run by the University of Nottingham.
To help with this project, which runs for four weeks from 31st August to the 24th September 2003, archaeology students are needed.  There will be no charge for accommodation or food, and travel to and from Nottingham is provided (if required). Work will consist of electronic survey using Total Station and data-logging equipment, on and around the lochs in question.

Please send a CV detailing fieldwork experience (particularly surveying) to:
jon.henderson@nottingham.ac.uk or acxmgc@nottingham.ac.uk
